Our group was lovingly named after our late sister in Christ, Leota Campbell, who was
truly an inspiration to all who had the honor of knowing her.
The fellowship was formerly known as the American Baptist Women. As American
Baptist Women there were set projects we participated in such as White Cross, mission
offerings, communicating with college students, etc.  After no longer being American
Baptist Women, we needed to develop other projects.

Listed are our projects from the last 2 years:

In February ’07 we distributed Valentine candy filled heart shaped containers or roses
to 20 people in the community and the Trinity Nursing Home.
In March ‘07 we distributed 30 Resurrection eggs to unsaved and un-churched people
here in the community.
In May ‘07 we donated $100 to the Richard Smith Scholarship Fund, sent items to
Nicaragua with Janie Lyall, sent items to Missionaries, Aaron & Marissa Bailey,(Things
they like and miss from home that they cannot purchase in Africa), like peanut butter &
taco seasoning, donated $100 to Awana, and donated $105 for children’s clothes at
Christmas.
So far in 2008 we’ve paid
In Touch Ministries for 3 messenger packages to be sent to
troops in Iraq & Afghanistan, gave small amounts of financial aid to several people,
have sent care packages 3 times to college students, visited sister Lena in the hospital
after attending Ladies Conferences at Calvary Baptist, visited her at home & brought
dinner, and also visited her at the Nursing Home at Christmas.
We’ve also purchased and delivered Amaryllis plants to 10 people in our church and
our community.  All of our projects are paid for out of the offerings taken up during
each meeting.  We don’t solicit or sell.  We have, in the past, received donations from
2 church members which were greatly appreciated.
Our regular meeting date and time is the 3rd Thursday of the each month at 6:30 p.m.
This is sometimes changed due to special circumstances or inclement weather.
We are now beginning a study called “Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts” with Angie
Adkins as the leader.  We’ve ordered 10 books & would love to have the need to order
more.  We would like to invite any lady of the church to join us in fellowship, study, &
worship.
